What’s a Lino Print?

Lino printing (short for linoleum printing) is a type of relief printmaking, kind of like stamping—but way more artistic. I carve a design into a soft sheet of linoleum using special tools, cutting away the parts I don’t want to show up in the final print. What’s left is the raised surface, which gets ink rolled onto it. Then I press it onto paper or fabric to transfer the design.

Each print is made by hand, so even if it’s the same design, no two are exactly alike. I love the bold lines, textures, and slightly unpredictable details that come with this method. It’s a beautiful blend of precision and surprise.
